Wrinkles appear on the face for a number of reasons, including environmental, smoking, exposure to the sun, and diet and lifestyle.

Active facial wrinkles can be successfully treated by injections.  Please see below for more information on Facial Treatments.

Facial Wrinkles

Anti-wrinkle injections are a very popular way treating active facial wrinkles. The injections contain small amounts of botulinum toxin.  W e use Allergan products because in our opinion this is the best on the market and gives reliable and consistent results from one treatment to the next.

Anti-wrinkle injections have been in use for many years to treat active wrinkles, and provide a safe method of treatment.

The toxin works by blocking the conduction of nerve impulses to the muscles of the treated area. This blockade is temporary which is why the muscle action gradually returns over (normally) a 3-month period.

The procedure normally takes 15-30 minutes in total, depending on the number of areas treated. The procedure is usually not painful, and so local anaesthetic is not required. However please ask us if you would like us to use some local anaesthetic cream, because we aim to make your treatment as comfortable as possible.

There is only minimal "downtime" after this treatment and so it can be given whenever is convenient to you.
We offer a free review consultation two weeks after your treatment.

Brow Lift

A brow lift is a very similar procedure to the treatment for facial wrinkles, but in this procedure the aim is to relax the frown lines between your brows. It also elevates the height of your eyebrows.

Gummy Smile

A gummy smile is one where too much of the upper gum is visible during smiling. Using two small injections of botulinum toxin, the upper lip is relaxed so that less gum is visible during smiling.

The procedure only takes a few minutes and the results normally last up to 3 months.

Downturned Mouth

Clients with this problem often complain that they look permanently sad or miserable. The problem can be remedied by injections into the depressor muscle beneath the angle of each lip. This temporarily paralyses the muscle, allowing the angle of the mouth to rise on each side,  giving a more natural look.

Hypertrophied Cheek Muscles

The masseter muscle is a powerful muscle whose main action is to close the mouth. Some patients are prone to teeth grinding, and others clench their jaw muscles on a regular basis. This can lead to overdevelopment (hypertrophy) of the masseter muscle leading to pain in the cheek and around the ear (tempero-mandibular joint) and headaches.

Injections into the base of the masseter muscle on each side are effective in relaxing this muscle and alleviating these symptoms.

Excessive Armpit Sweating

This is a distressing complaint which often affects young people from puberty up to the age of 25. It is characterised by excessive sweating from both armpits which may affect work and social activity and cause those affected to wear dark clothing and change their clothing several times a day.

Botulinum injections given superficially into the skin of each armpit has been shown to reduce the action of the sweat glands, and usually lasts for about 8-10 weeks.
